Facility is one of the easiest levels on the LTK mode. Using mines to kill guards makes it all the more easier. The area just before Dr. Doak is arguably the hardest part in the level. If Doak isn't in his optimal position, check the two other lab positions and maybe you'll find him there. If not, restart.

From the entrance to the lab, no guard will hear you.

This is a tutorial for Goldeneye 007. For an outline of the strategies used in this tutorial, see the main level page.

Overview

Facility is a skill level, requiring minimal luck, and probably belongs amongst the easier of the Goldeneye LTK levels for completion. There are plenty of enemies in tight areas, however with a knowledge of the layout of guards and some patience, it is possible to eliminate the vast majority from safe positions. The remote mines also afford a number of opportunities for simplification.

General Completion Notes

Level Opening

Most guards in the first area of Facility are patrolling and follow set paths. Many of the non patrolling guards can be ignored and will only be alerted if too much noise is made.

Past the Security Door - Spawn Prevention

The two guards who stand around the lockers are important. If they (or even their corpses before they fade out) see you, then 3 guards will spawn behind you and come chasing after a few seconds. To stop these guards spawning, it is safest to throw a remote mine into the area and detonate it without entering the locker area. Let the door naturally close, and then return to the console to reopen the door. This gives the best chance of the locker guards never seeing you.

Entry to Laboratory Area

This corridor has patrolling guards going in both directions, which can be tricky. Guards from the central area can see you through the windows as you approach the entry to the Lab Area, so be careful of them appearing behind you.

It is possible to enter the lab area by rapid shooting your PP7 at the door. This will alert only the nearest guard to open the door, rather also alerting the guards behind the boxes as the KF7 would.

Laboratory Area

It is common for people to throw a mine onto the back wall behind the boxes to eliminate the two guards there and three standing guards above. It may also remove a patroller, but this is not guaranteed, so be careful of him running to your location.

Finding Doak

On a safe completion, it is worth checking the two Doak locations closest to the level start. The three in the Lab Area are obviously optimal. The other two locations in the 'Right Side' Lab Area has one location on ground level, and one up the stairs in the far corner.

Destroy Tanks In Bottling Room

If you have used your remote mines already, the safest way to blow up the tanks is to shoot them out from the right-side of the raised entrance to the Bottling Room. If you do so from the floor level then there is a risk guards will hear you, your interaction with Trev may set off the alarm before you've completed it, or both. From the entrance to the lab, no guard will hear you.
