|On January 1st 2007, then champion [[Bryan Bosshardt]] got 16 of his times removed after strggling to provide proof of them in time.
Bosshardt later provided proof for all of these times, but back then they were removed, leaving Boss still in 1st place but only by a few points.
Ilari took that opportunity, and on January 9th 2007 achieved [[Facility 00A 0:55]] and made a video claiming that he was now the Champion fo the game. (the video was received with mixed opinions).
There isn't a single rankings snapshot that exists with Ilari ranked as 1st in points, in reality, on January 9th 2005 Bosshardt held exactly 5880 points whereas Ilari was in 2nd place at exactly 5843.
During that period Ilari was also at no point ranked 1st in World Record Leaders as well, holding 29 (7) WRs compared to Boss' 33 (8) on January 9th 2007, and from that point on Boss would only widen the gap between him and Ilari troughout the rest of the year.

Goldeneye Champions is the complete listing of everyone who has earned the #1 position in the point system on The Elite's rankings for GoldenEye 007.

A different point system was used for REX's rankings from March 1998 to ~1999. And it is unknown if it would have reflected the rankings competition similarily to the current one we have*

The current point system with a maximum amount of 6000 points was used from ~1999 onwards*
